49 year old Mark Afforde nearly survived the extreme sport of bungeejumping when the cord snapped and he hit the river with great impact. It was a Thursday afternoon when Afforde was with his buddies makinghis second jump of the day off the Canyon Creek Bridge and that'swhen his bungee cord broke! When he reached the lowest point in the 300 foot plunge he knew something was up. He fell 25 feet into Canyon Creekand his friends horrified at the scene got the professional crew to scramble downand reach him in time. Afforde said that he heard and so the snap and immediately he felt the impact and shortley he was underwater. Made sure he could still moveand he felt he needed to get out of the water. Once he was out the shore paramedicstook him to the Southwest Washington Medical Center. This wasn't his last time takinga risk, but for his wife it certainly was!
